Estefania D., NP ’06

Estefania is a graduate of our second alumni class, the Class of 2006, one of three classes that began their Nativity education in the fifth grade. In her eighth-grade year at Nativity, Estefania found herself “consumed with interest” in the Second World War, especially with the historical accounts from survivors of the Holocaust. The story of the Jewish people, and now more broadly the various histories of struggle and survival throughout the world, have inspired her choice to pursue ethnic studies and political science as majors at St. Mary’s College. Estefania plans on studying human-rights law after graduating from college. After four very successful years at Francis Parker School, where she played soccer and cross-country and was the student manager for the football team, Estefania now finds herself continuing her passion for service at St. Mary’s through Hermanitas Unidas, a university-sponsored discussion group dedicated to issues pertaining to Latina women. Estefania is also working to start a campus chapter of Invisible Children, a San Diego-based non-profit dedicated to supporting human rights across the world.
